5" up on the tube is a seam. the upper tube just slides in and seals with an O-ring from above. this seam fills with grease/grime/rust and doesn't like to come apart.

I suggest to grab a 13mm wrench, unbolt the dipstick mount from the front of the bellhousing go at it from the engine bay, passenger side. mount is right above the starter...unbolt it, and bend the mount out. unbolt the trans pan, then drop everything down (you'll need to do this carefully so not to bend the hose).

once it's out, spray some wd-40 or such lubricant in that seam, and let it soak while you clean the pan.

if you're going to the trouble to take the pan off and clean it, then put a new filter and seal on it too.

even if it did have one you wont wanna do that while the TC is on the jeep, cause you cant fill it while its on the jeep, you'd end up pulling the tranny to do it

not really. the TC fills itself when you start up the motor...this is why there is a top-off needed after a transmission flush.
