How I know it has to go on the bottom line I just don't know how

If I recall correctly you have the in line go in the bottom and the out line that returns to the tranny on top. You mount it to where air can't get trapped in it and where it will get good air flow like up front. And a simple one will do the job good

I thought the in like is on top I can't find any info on that

It flows from the tranny to the lower hole in the stock cooler in the radiator then out the top hose back to the tranny. You can either bypass the radiator mounted cooler for hot climates or you can run it in line after the stock "cooler".
