Default Tranny Fluid lines pressurized?

I have tranny fluid line that's not threaded in correctly somewhere and it's leaking and I just wanted to know if I unscrew the hose is tranny fluid going to come shooting out? or just pouring out?

With the engine off there will be no pressure. Some of it will leak when you disconnect it.

So much that I should put something under it to catch? or that I'll need to go by more to fill up?

I would put a drip pan under it. I dont think youll loose that much fluid but it really depends on how long you leave it dripping.

It'll leak out by gravity, so all the fluid higher than the point you're working on will slowly pour out. (A decent amount, all that the radiator holds at least)

Engine off - static drip.

Engine on - it's flow volume, not pressure. The pressure is residual in the cooler lines, the hydraulic pressure has already done its work (I've had cooler lines blow all over me in operation - all that happens is I get transmission fluid on me. A lot of it. If there was pressure in the line, having it blow two inches away from my skin would have given me some heavy injury - it works like a water knife (and that's ugly. Ever see a steel sheet getting cut by a water jet?)
