tranfer case swap

does anybody know if u can swap a 242 out for a 231??

Yes you can just make sure of the spline count,around 91 both 231s and 242s were upgraded to 23 spline.before that they were 21 spline.

oh ok thanks do u know if the shift linkage is any different?
and does it make a difference iif its from a Zj?
