Default track bar question

94 xj country... I replaced the tracbar, but there still seems to be an issue with it... when turning, the bar moves at the axle end... the bolt going through the mount doesnt move and the hole wasnt "ovaled" out... it seems that the sleeve and bushing are larger than the bolt maybe??? Its giving me more play in the steering than i would like... any ideas or fixes on this??? Thanks guys!!

Check all of your tie-rod ends. The track bar isnt really part of the steering system, as it merely holds the axle in position relative to the body.

As i turn the wheel, the axle mount side of the trackbar moves... that is with the jeep on the ground and in grass... all of the tre's are new moog... maybe not tightened up enough?

Maybe a previous owner or shop put the wrong size bolt in? You might have to get creative to fix it. If you are confident that it is moving at the axle, you can start measuring the holes and bolt with a dial caliper to know what to replace and with what size....

Yeah i was thinkin about moving up in bolt size... I am also wonder if I can get a thicker sleeve.... same outside diameter would give a smaller inside and thus take up the space between the sleeve and bolt...

It should be rather obvious if the bolt is too big for the sleeve. Take it off and see.

Use a larger bolt. A 7/16 grade 8 bolt and locknut should do the trick.
