Default Tow points?

my 98 cherokee sport has no trailer hitch, tow hooks, or shackles or anything of that sort.
First off i need to know what i could use as a tow point for now, and second can someone show me where to mount front tow hooks?

yeah theres no place to bolt on tow hooks if they didnt come factory with them if you google xj tow hooks youll find some for the front cause otherwise theres not much to yank on and for the rear i would invest in a bumper or a hitch cause theres not much there either kinda sucks huh

stock tow hooks pretty much suck
mine had a bracket that bolted over the stock bumper bracket used the stock bumper mounting holes and extrended back and used one hole behind the steering box wasnt much to really pull from
id invest in building or buying bumpers with good mounts

Buy or build a bumper. Stock hooks are simply dangerous in my opinion. Others will disagree but when it comes to the safety of myself and my family/friends I dont half *** anything.

I recently installed a front and rear hitch on my xj for under $300 shipped to my door with the wiring for trailer lights, from etrailer.com. Give them a call, they gave me a discount when I called and the shipping was free. I didn't remove either of the bumpers to get them on and installed them both myself.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice!

I was only thinking of the hooks for the front, unless anyone highly disagrees?!

This is the way to go. I have both front and rear rec. hitches too. Solid, spread out load, and stiffen the uniframe a little too.
