you did not search. how do i know, i made the same damn thread.
but to answer your question, yes you need the brackets. just search around jy, or wait and you can find them cheap.

Yeah, it's not going to work without the brackets, guaranteed, one or two recoveries, and those puppies rip right out of your unibody rail...
There's a reason they're not called "Frame rails" or "Frames", it's because they aren't, it's nothing more than a few pieces of stacked sheet metal. Hence the need for a bracket to spread the load around the rail so it doesn't just rip the bolt out...

go to your local metal shop or if your in highschool (like me) take or ask the metal shop teacher to build you some d rings mounts and sence you have a welder make some better mounting brackets and weld them to the bumper and bolt both the d ring mounts and new bumper mounts to the " frame" hers what they should look like (atleast what mine look like) the cuts on top are for the bumper to come thru and sit on.

dont wanna rain on your parade but those prolly wont last they need to tie in further back than they look like they do the brackets that you buy are the sameish as stock they are designed like that for a reason but thos dont look like they run far enough back and also look like they will rip right thru the "frame" i would suggest at absolute minimum three mounting points to the "frame"
Holy Run-On Sentences Bat-Man!
But yeah, he's right, that's no different than just drilling two holes and bolting the tow hooks through those, it's just gunna tear it up.
The further back point that he is talking about should be about a foot back on the unibody rail, it goes all the way through it, but it's "tubed" in and reinforced to be able to handle the stressed of having a tow hook attatched to it. You need to use that.
Go look under your jeep, the bolt hole I'm talking about is by the back side of the PS pump on the drivers side, and by the alternator on the passenger side. Gotta use those if you want any sort of strong and reliable tie in...

The Laredo hooks will bolt on the drivers side hook mounts but you will need the laredo bracket for the passenger side.
