Default Torque converter issues

Alright so im havin some issues with my torque converter lockup. A few weeks ago, i was driving back from a roadtrip and my jeep would not shift into od and the tc wouldent lock up. Ive been driving it around since then and sometimes the tc would lock up, and sometimes it wont. Theres nothing that made it lock up or not lock up. Its just random. Well today i decided to change the fluid and filter to see if that would help. When i droped the pan, there was a little bit of that fine metal sludge in the bottom on the pan and a little on the top of the filter maybe like a half of a teaspoon in total. Ive read that a small amount of metal filings is normal. While i had it apart i checked all the solenoids and they all read 12ohm's. And i tested the TPS which read .24ohm-4.6ohm and was smooth through the entire range. After i got it all back together, i took it on a drive, and now the tc is locking up in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear if i accelerate slow and it bogs down the engine. But if i accelerate fast, it shifts normal and goes into od at 42mph and the tc locks up. Im stumped and its starting to get annoying. PLEASE HELP!

1997 xj, 4.0, aw4, np231. 160,000 miles. Rebuilt tranny at 135,000

The TCC Signal goes through the Normally Closed contacts in the brake light switch.

Try lifting the brake peddle with your left foot while at highway speed and see what happens.

Are you getting a CEL?

Have you cleaned the contacts in the NSS?
The range select signal goes through the NSS.

Checked the various connectors for the TCU, Tranny, NSS, etc.?

Alright so today i disconnected the tcu and drove it. Started with it in the 1-2 gear and then shifted into the 3 gear position. It did fine so i pluged the tcu back in and it drove great except the tranny still dident disengage when i came to a stop after it locked up at 41mph. Then on the way back it shifted and either shifted 1 gear to many or the tc locked up and the rpm's went down to 1000 at 15 mph. So i unpluged the tcu again and it did the same thing. I thought i had fixed it too. Ugh

So if the TC locks in gears other than 4th I would suspect the TCU is telling it to lock(it should not) or the solenoid is worm out. the electrics are good but the valve inside is plugged or broken. Did you ohm the solenoids at the solenoid or at the the TCU which is preffered so the wiring is also tested.
I grab a few when Im at the local Pick and Pull for about 10 bucks each. Get one for OBDII.

I checked them at the solenoid. Do you have the diagram for testing them at the tcu?
