Probably one of those times to hit up a well know tuner website and look for some how-to videos.
I remember watching a quick but decent quick clip from Wheeler dealers that matched what I have seen stateside...is you wet a lot of things down and a decent amount of careful cutting and back and forth.
Not an outdoor activity due to dust issues.

x2 tinting is something you have someone who knows what they are doing do it because good film aint cheap and its super easy to mess up and you will have wasted the film. Shop around for prices I can get my whole rig done for around $100.

Cherokees are relatively easy to tint. All glass is kinda flat and very easy to access. No need to doing it in a garage, since youll be inside the vehicle anyways.
Just use a lot of soapy water and work the bubbles out with a small squeegee.
I plan on doing my Cherokee soon, but Ive done several vehicles in the past.
Tiniting the back glass of a 79 Caprice Landau is brain surgery compared to the XJs.

my jeep had clear back glass, clear windsheild, clear driver and front passenger windows but the rear passenger and side cargo windows were tinted from the factory. I swapped a tinted rear window from a xj at a junk yard for 10 bucks and now have all factory tinted windows. I would love to have the gold factory tint though.

funny, I just did my three rear windows yesterday.
Not my finest work, but very good for doing it in a windy parking lot.
For some reason all the tinters around here want $200 + for the job... Yeah... I'm too cheap for that.
It's a best if you watch someone who's very good at it then try yourself.

I've had the same guy tint my last 4 vehicles and the cheapest he'll do my XJ for is $280. You guys all have it cheap! I bought a couple of rolls of tint, just haven't found the time to do it. I figure I can screw up a whole heck of a lot and re-do and still come out ahead.
