I'm not understanding. Are you just boring the throttle body but not increasing the butterfly size?

by removing the taper below the butterfly, making it the same measurement all the way through the body, you get a 62mm bore. the butterfly is already 62mm. why would I touch the butterfly when i didn't over-bore it.

HO must be different then. The Renix TBs I got from www.strokedjeep.com had 60mm butterflies to replace the smaller stock butterflies.

Renix is 56mm. non Renix is 60mm at the top, and tappers to 58mm. to bore a TB past the 60mm you need a new butterfly. I have a "bored" TB that is straight threw with the stock plate, its 60mm.

Renix was originally 52mm at the intake manifold. www.strokedjeep.com bores them to 60mm and replaces the butterfly.
