So, might as well post it to give closure to this 'solo' thread. For future reference if somebody, somewhere, somehow, will have the same question.

Yes, please!

I haven't had a chance to measure it, but I seem to want to think it runs about 3/4"UNC or so. Be nice to confirm it...

3/4"X16

I'm thinking of installing a oil filter relocation kit I've had for yrs for a 318 Dodge motor. So I was trying a used filter (no markings) on the nipple that goes in the block for the adapter to attach to. Filter wouldn't thread on. Turns out I was trying a metric threaded filter from the wife's Blazer.

Why not? Considering how it's going to get harder to find flat-tappet oil as time goes on, I think part of the refit of my 88 is going to be adding a bypass oil filter, to increase oil longevity...

Ehh not really, plenty of HDEOs that fit the bill! You might like the thread in my signature.

I've pondered a remote filter for my Jeep just because after lifting it it's annoying to get at it down there on the block. Mounted on the firewall or something would be super handy. Sheet metal could use a little rust proofin' anyway.

Never really had trouble on my RENIX. If I broke down and put some sort of valve setup in the sump drain, I'd be able to do tool-less oil changes (I grease the O-ring on the filter well - using red moly grease, instead of engine oil - and it comes loose handily when I change it.)
