Default Things to do at oil change

I'm sitting here at the shop and they have a bunch of oil additives that claim to help restore my engines compression, horsepower, oil consumption, and life, ect. Does anyone else add these things during an oil change?

You might have just started a flame on you thread. Please do a search on this, also do some reasearch at bobistheoilguy.com. I personally believe in no additives, they are still around because they are highly profitable, and people still believe in snake oil.

Yea, I remember reading one thread and I got A LOT of mixed reviews. Everyone tells me that fluids are the life of my vehicle and so I figured i'd see what you guys do when you change your oil.

So you guys add nothing more than just the oil?

Try using sugar. Or sand.

Or...wait...doesn't red bell use bull urine? You could try that, may give you wings!

Quality oils only. If I am unsure of the vehicles history, I will change the fluids rather frequently for a while, then get on my normal routine. The only checmicals I have ever trusted is BG, but use that mainly for flushes.

I wouldn't put 99% of that crap in my oil, but MMO has always worked great for me.

I would stick to your conventional oil changes the only additive i use is sea foam but not in the oil i use it for the intake and gas tank but alot of ppl have mixed reviews about sea foam but it works for me

The only oil additive I've used in years is auto rx. If you do a search, I think you will find favorable results are the norm.

Quality oil at the proper viscosity and changed at a reasonable interval is all you need.

Save your money for gas (you'll need it with today's prices)
