Default thickest engine oil to run?

I got a rear main seal leak. It gets kinda bad when i'm cruising on the freeway at 65 mph and whenever the jeep is warmed up. I have a trail ride coming up this weekend and don't have time to fix the seal so I'm thinking of running thicker oil just until I can fix it next week or so. What's the thickest engine oil I can run in the jeep to maybe reduce the leak? Is there any quality additives I can toss in there to reduce it?

I run 5w-30 year round.

I run 20-50 regardless of time of year, and I have for many years. I had a rear seal leak not long ago and running 20-50 leaked out at a good amount to.

replacing the seal isnt too difficult on these.

there is this stuff at autozone that i use in EVERY one of my vehicles. its called restore. its great. it is fairly cheap and it really does work. when i got my zj it as burning oil and leaking like crazy. when i did my oil change a threw in an 8cyclinder can of restore and presto! not more burning oil and no more leaks! its like magic. lucas oil makes some ok stuff. but its like a hit or miss with lucas. i used the tranny slip formula on my olds bravada and it did crap, but i used it on my zj and no more slips. i also used the power steering fluid on my leBaron and it works to a point. it squeals really loud but as soon as i put the fluid in it goes away. then without leaking the squeal comes back. so lucas products is ok i guess, but dont expect miracles. use the restore, that stuff really does work.

I run 20-50 with super tech oil treatment or stp in my Ford Bronco over 300000 miles when I retired my Bronco and replaced It with 1996 and 2001 Jeep Cherokee that I run 20-40. Just make sure that you don't let oil get low or run out then you will have trouble.

Thanks guys. I went to my local wal-farts and got some 10w-40 and a bottle of lucas oil stabilizer. It's all they had in stock. They had 15-40, 20-50 but only two quarts in stock so I went with the cheapest 10w-40 cuz the oil will only be in there for two weeks and not worth spending $4 a qt and wasting it later.

Hopefully this slows the leak just a little, enough for me to get some playtime in.
