It was clean, when I bought the car it was one owner with a clean carfax, even the oil changes were on there. At this point I am thinking it is a cheapo oreilys radiator but I thought I would get some advice before I blow 200 buck on a nice one.

Do your homework when/if selecting a rad. Modern design OE rads have less rows, but very wide row(s). Virtually all modern (last 20+ years) OE rads have a aluminum core. What the tanks are made of means nothing. Pay attention to core thickness......don't presume that a 2-3 row aftermarket rad is 2X-3X as thick as OE core. Study up, check specs, and don't presume paying more money always gets a better/more efficient product.

Is your fan shroud in decent condition? How about the radiator cap? DId you replace the cap when you change the radiator?

Is the plastic air dam under the radiator still there? This will make it heat up in traffic if it is not there.

I didn't know this but I think it could be causing my slight temp problems. The air dam was there when I bought my Cherokee but it was in horrible shape so I ripped it off. Ever since then I will go to just a tick above 210 when I'm driving around the city or into the mountains up a steep incline. Interesting, maybe it's worth getting a new dam? Or could this be offset by getting a ZJ fan clutch? Either way I know my cooling system needs some serious TLC but I didn't know that the air dam was important. I ripped it off thinking it was junk. The more you know, I guess.

Presuming we're talking about slow vehicle speed (in traffic), how would a air dam have any effect on anything (at slow/no speed)?

It wouldn't at a slow speed.
