Exclamation Temp Creap

I have looks on this forum, and have replaced every part that touched cooled (exept for the engine) and I still callnot figure out what is the cause. in normal freeway friving it is fine. but is I go up long hills or still in traffic it starts to creep up about 210. I love my jeep and dont wanna trade it in, but I am at he end of the rope.

The parts I have replaced
Fan clutch
heater control valve
therostate
water pump ratiator
hoses

Any idead would be great, I am getting tired of trying to figure this out

PS 1996 4.0 auto

I am having the same problem except mine is a 98. Mine will get to about 215 when I sit in traffic for a while. I have no idea what the problem is either and would like to hear some opinions.

OP 210 is completely normal, that is what it should be at. Do a search...

Beagle, have you replaced the clutch fan, that is the most likely cause of temp coming up in traffic. Replace it with a heavy duty one from a zj.

U say "normal freeway driving, it's fine".....where does the needle point when "it's fine"?

Overheating is when the needle is at/in the "red" area on the gauge. Most other vehicles (with a factory temp gauge) just have a "C" and "H" on the temp gauge and the needle points +/- the middle of the gauge when all is good......kinda like the XJ does.

What color is your coolant? Your exhaust smell a little sweet? How do the fins of your rad look?

200 to 210 sounds normal to me. What exactly are you expecting it to be?

The rad is brand new and looks great, but it is from orielys so I was thinking it could just be a cheapo chinsese piece of garbage.

The other day I let my gf drive me jeep on long beach and when I stoped to check the temp it was almost to the red. Or the other day I was driving on lake city way and every time I was at a red light it would start to go over 210 and climbing, it would have continued if the light did not turn green.

What did the coolant look like before the overheating issue?
