Kilberthj have you looked to see if the drive shaft rubs at all wile it was in the driveway?

I don't know why you guys keep bashing TC drops. i have had zero problems with mine. My out out put shaft and yoke rubed when I first put the lift on and i droped the TC an inch, with some spacers I made. That got rid of any rubing, so i could drive it to work the next day.

A few days later i went to the local driveline shop and he sold me a new out put yoke that has longer ears. which gives the drive shaft more room to move around. That took care of any chance of the driveshaft rubing wile driving or wile wheelin.

The last thing i did was buy a drop down crossmember, so I could get rid of my home made drop. This made the u joint angles way better. As you can see in these pics my drive shaft is almost streight. And no the rearend is not shimed.
For the record my motor mounts were shot when i bought the Heep, so I plan to replace them anyway. And my fan clutch is 2 inches from my rad, not even close to hiting it. Lastly (for those who want to argue about ground clearance) I plan to buy a skid plate for the TC so I don't beat it up.

I guess all I want to say is don't bash it just because it didn't work for you.

This is the rearend.

This isthe shaft looking from the rear.

And this is what it all looks like.

And this is what it all looks like.

your rear driveshaft is too long, and the angles are wrong. the pinion has to match the trans output angle within 2 degrees.

with your rear driveshaft being that long, with no room for slip, you're going to end up compressing your rear driveshaft too mutch and push the output shaft on the t-case THROUGH the t[case and end up completely shredding the case.

that will happen unless you fix the length. it's a cut and dry fact.

Kilberthj I have a 4.5 lift. And no thats not a siutcase, its whats left of my muffler. It had the hole in it when I got it, I think somone put a floor jack through it. All of my exhaust is going to be changed.

JeepComj You have a good point. Thats the stock driveshaft, all I changed was the output yoke. And that has about a half inch of travel before it bottoms out.
How would you change my drive line? Besides an SYE.

I'd get your driveshaft shortened or put a stock yoke on it, and get an angle finder and set the pinion 2 degrees above the output on the t-case.
