TC drop problems
I am installing the tc drop kit on my 98 xj andI am having a problem with getting the threaded studs out of the frame (on each side there is a stud and a bolt) i need the stud removed. any ideas on how to get them out and how they're in there (threaded or welded)

Did your kit come with instructions? If not double nut the studs and use penetrating oil to loosen the threads, also use a hammer to tap on the bottom of the stud, this will help loosen the rust and the stud.

Three words: heat and pipe wrench.
Heat it up real good to melt the locktite and then use a pipe wrench to twist it out. They use locktite on those from the factory. You can use a dremel to make two smooth surfaces on the stud if you don't have any heat. The dremel makes the stud hot and also something for the pipe wrench to grip on. Mine came out like butter when I did it this way. The double nut thing never worked on any of the xj x-members that i removed.

This is the method I used. At least for the first stud. The other side I just muscled it with a monkey-wrench.
The double-nut mthod is a real joke. You almost have to fuse everything together to have it work. I kno...I have tried this
