Taking out the entire exhaust and starting from scratch.
i used an el cheapo pacesetter header on my 90,6-2-1.I used 2 1/2 inch pipe from it,to a turbo muffler and a turn-down just behind the crossmember.Huge difference in power, especially low end.it's louder, but that never hurt anything.in fact, since i did that, the stupid shift light now comes on at speeds it used to lug down at.

That's still no excuse to mount it about 4 inches too far back so the axle hits it on uptravel, and still no excuse to mount the tailpipe touching the gas tank so that it melted a hole in the plastic cover.

Theres always room for improvment, tuned length headers will always be better than cost effective cast manifolds. The rugged ridge looks nice, no reviews antwhere though. Then theres the doug thorley header but thats pricey. High flow cat = no such thing the magnaflow website dosen't list one just list replacement cat, have yet to see a site that list specs that prove there cat is truly a high flow.

With 5-600 just bring it to a real exhaust shop and have everything welded on proffesionally. I am positive you can get an awesome exhaust for that kind of dough!!!
if you need the bung for a second o2 sensor, those are available and can be welded on separately.and in a pinch,a spark plug non fouler can be used, same threads.just needs to be drilled out.
2000 - 2001 cherokee exhaust
JUST these two years are differint then 1999 and down
they are two peice headers with a O2 on each one
right after the the o2's there a pre cat on each header
and you still have a cat in line befor the muffler
the pre cats are there for better warm up also to to meet more stringent emissions control laws
i might have to eat my words cuz i just fond this

there is always room for approvement but when there is nothing to improve it with then your stuck. you can look around and for 600 bucks you can get a good system for sure. just headers is the problem if you find headers that fit post them. but im pretty sure there are none.
