Flowmaster super 10 series exhaust clip
Hey everyone. I've finally gotten around to taking a video of my exhaust. It has a few hundred miles on it so it's been heated up quite a few times. It's a Flowmaster super 10 series. Let me know your opinions. All opinions welcome.

I drive it 120 miles a day highway. 65mph there is almost no drone and it's nowhere near obnoxious or even annoying. Can hold a conversation with everyone in the vehicle no problem. So when you ask what I'm looking for as far as feedback goes, your reply is exactly the feedback I'm looking for. An opinion. That's all.

Because of where I run, and what I do, I keep mine quiet, but that sounds really nice. If I was at a Jamboree and heard that I would turn to see who it was.

Don't mention that here, it is against federal law and the forum rules. You may wan't to edit that out.

can't see what parts you used. Any custom fab work? By the way, I think its too loud.

I've thought about installing a flowmaster, but they're a little too loud for my current needs. I've owned various automobiles manufacturing dating back to the 50's. Modern vehicles monitor exhaust conditions to run an engine, creating a difference in tuning and performance. It use to be more common to tune an engine to produce better sound. Today people are swapping out their mufflers and parts of their exhaust to produce better performance and sound with little or no control over engine tuning and performance.
I'd say the Flowmaster sounds ok, however I don't think I would use one in areas where a more quiet exhaust is needed.
My previous exhaust I installed a high flow muffler. A big mistake as the sound it created was a constant drone that nobody, including myself liked.
After various repairs my exhaust system eventually became unreliable. Instead of spending more on exhaust repairs I decided to replace the entire exhaust using aftermarket OE fit parts. Took me approx. 30 to 45 mins removing old exhaust and clamping in the new exhaust system (except for the manifold) and it was done. No more problems with welds breaking, leaks, muffler / tail pipe falling off. My front pipe was once damaged near the bend, shop repairs didn't hold up, started leaking, new front pipe solved these problems.
Jeep (Mopar) at one time produced a cat-back system (including muffler) and high performance exhaust manifold for a stock 4.0L XJ. Similar to the aftermarkets. Cat-back help some with performance producing more horse power at certain rpms. Switching back to a closer to stock exhaust for regular street driving rpms hasn't seemed to make much difference, other than it runs quieter.
For me what's important is the muffler is able to last, creates an acceptable sound and isn't vulnerable to being punctured or torn. Very little play fitting tightly to the body.
I don't know the condition of your cat. Most are rated to last over 100,000 miles, eventually become clogged and stop working. The original XJ cats were the pellet type, to repair you replaced the pellets. Several years ago an exhaust shop replaced my pellet cat with a honey comb type. I don't think the new design had much of an effect on engine performance. The problem I find while trying to tune modern engines (most of my vehicles have been old school using carburetors) is the PCM constantly tunes the engine for cat efficiency vs engine efficiency.

i like it. honestly thanks for doing this. i want this. what's the build on it. stock except the muffler, or franken kit with headers and high flow cat and such?
because i'm running stock everything except for my magnaflow. is "loud" but it doesn't sound very good. its like someone just raised the stock volume by 30%. im not fan of what ive got now
