Default t-handle for the gear shifter

Hey guys...I want to change my t-handle for the gear shifter and was wondering if anyone could tell me how to take it off before I mess it up and create a whole lot of problems...thanks for any help. If anyone had a diagram or link, that would be great.

Pull it to low and depress the button and wiggle and pull,it will come off without to much trouble.

I know this is going to sound way dorky, but I saw this shift handle about a year ago that looked like the pistol handle ( it had the hammer and trigger that work.). At the time, they wanted about $35.00 for it and I thought it was a little expensive...I just happened to be in advanced auto the other day and found one for $3.95...So I bought it and am anxiously wanting to put it on...I know...dumb, but what can you do...I'll probably get bored with it soon any way and wind up changing it again...I guess I'm trying to regain a little of my inner child.lol

For a stick shift, you twist off the **** and install the new one.
