Default T-case linkage slipped out

So I was out doing some light wheeling today and after getting stuck and putting the t-case into 4 lo i had a hard time putting it back into 4 hi or even 2wd. After i struggled for a while i finally got it back in but 4 hi doesnt engage untill the shifter is at 4 lo. I looked underneath to see what was up and mine looks exactly like this(not my pic). Any ideas how to get it back in?

that happened to me, you need to push that green grommet back into the hole on the bracket right next to it. It will be hard, you might want to use some wd-40 or something to help it slip in, and I think I used wrenches or screw drivers or something to leverage it back in. I also had to replace the grommet before popping it back in because mine was all chewed up. Had to order it from the dealership. good luck.

Get rid of it. Get an S-10 lever off the 231 with some heims and all thread to connect them. Plenty of writeups on it and you won't regret it.

Try this, and solve the issue once and for all. All in one kit.

They also have a kit for the 242
