Default T-case leak

Hey Jeepsters,
While servicing my T-case I noticed a leak coming from the transfer case shift shaft. Anyone every replace that seal ?
Looks like it requires T-case removal ? How bad is the removal....?
May as well change all the seals if it has to come out..
Also, Is there a seal kit available which includes the shift shaft seal ?
Everything else is dry.

The shift lever can be removed using a 1/2 or 13 mm wrench / socket. Behind the lever and around the shaft you will first find a plastic sleeve and then an o-ring. With a pick and some patience you can remove them from the case and with an appropriate size sleeve, some lube, some more patience, and a little luck, you should be able to reinsert the o-ring. The sleeve will go right in after that and then you button her up......

Mine leaves a 1/2 dollar size puddle everytime I park it. Its been about 3 weeks since I found the leak with very little change in fluid level. I just hate a leaker! Ordered new o-rings and stuff. Will try my luck next week
replacing the o-ring.

Hello all!

I hate to resurrect a 9 year old post but have any of you tried this repair with the T-CASE still attached to the XJ? I just would like some pointers. Or is it really just use a pick to remove old and then install new O-Ring?

Thanks in advance!!!
