Default 231 new seal leaking??

Hi guys,
I've got a 90 renix XJ with 4.5 inches of lift and the 231 t-case. the rear output shaft seal started leaking so i got a new one and put it in. it immediately started leaking as well. as if its not the right one. here is the one i bought.

it fit right in with the long rubber part sticking out. its leaking where it connects alot. suggestions? take it off and silicone it up?

im beginning to think this seal is a junky seal, i siliconed it up and it stopped leaking at where it connects into the t-case but its still leaking where the shaft goes in the t-case, the shaft is flawlessly clean so i think its a junk seal

did u lube the seal when you put it in? Usually i put a light coat of bearing grease on the seal so the shaft doesnt rotate on a dry seal before the TC has time to put the fliud up to the seal.
