sye or t case drop??
i lifted my jeep 3 inches..but my drive shaft looks like its about to fall out of the t case and i don't like it.. i was woundering what is the eaiser way to go?
lol i lifted my old chevy with hockey pucks lmao.... so if i drop the t case how would i go about that. my jeep is rusty and the bolt will brake and so will the stud... but if i get them out i can get a longer bolt but how can i extend the stud??
I dont know much about tcase drops or sye setups, but here is a writeup on the hockey puck drop (by "evmo")

I think you can replace the stud with a piece of grade 8 allthread maybe? Im not sure on how you would do that... Maybe you can look up some tcase drop kits and see what the directions say?
edit: not much of a writeup, but maybe it will give you some ideas...

i say make sure you cant get a longer driveshaft from like a ZJ or something.. maybe with a different rear axle... JY it... would fix your issue and save you ground clearance...
I was told by the local 4X4 shop that a t-case drop kit will screw up the linkage. They recommended a SYE, but we're talking about a $500 difference between the two. I would love some real input from other lifted XJ owners on whether they've had problems with their drop kits and a 3" drop.
i say do the sye..i just got my hack n tap from iron rock offroad it seems pretty straight forward and i have an extra front driveshaft layin around i only have about 4 inches of lift but i wanted the option to go higher later..do it right the first time
look for a used sye I just pick one up for $100 and I got the back half of the case so all I had to do was bolt it up, got a front drive shaft and a flange adapter for my 8.8 rear axle, the guy that I got the sye from had some RE longarms pick them up for $300 you just got to wait on a deal to come by
