I have heard people have issues getting this job done, breaking quality spanners etc. They leak like a mongrel, and originally had loctite on the big recessed torx bolt.
My preparations;
Pop the hood, disconnect the OP sender wire.
No need to heat up engine, grovel on ground like a maggot, or even remove oil filter (although it make install easier)
the trick is 2 x identical 12mm spanners on the T60 hex, (I knock it out of its /1/2" drive socket first). I bought them especially for this job for $1 each from Supercheap Auto, used them 3 times.
non-identical spanners will not work
used a 2.5ft length of 1.5" pipe from above, over the spanners, to undo and tighten the T60, a 10mm ratchet wrench to back it out & in quick
took it for a test drive, no more oil dripping down onto the main exhaust pipe, looks like my trucks on fire
no oil running down from anywhere else (yet)...and yes madam, I do use that toothbrush for cleaning the engine..but only the parts that need it!
sorry, pictures may not be were I want, havent uploaded b4

Only if it were that simple. I have an LPG evaporator right above it which isn't really moveable so not as much access. Handily though a 1.5ft long spanner did the job from a mixture of above and on the floor.
