Default Stupid brakes... Have some problems.

Well my brakes have decided to die from the s**tty cheap attemp to fix them by the PO. Heres what my problem is. Theres a grinding. Now i guess some cheap roter type fix was tried. And new brake pads were put in. Well its grinding and not all that willing to stop quickly. Its the drivers side. It is NOT a antilock brake system.

So heres my question. I have antilock (think their antilock) on my 96 cherokee thats my parts jeep. Could i take them (or parts of them) off that jeep and on mine? Otherwise a friend suggested a guy who will do it cheap and right. (retirey who does work on cars as a pass time or something) any way how much of a b***h is this gunna be for me? Do i take the loss of cash and buy all new crap and possibly get my friends friend to do it while im gone?

It needs to get fixed but i dont know how to go about doing it...

Im pretty sure the the rotors that are ABS will work on a non ABS system and the pads will to the only difference is theres a sensor behind the brakes the pads and rotors are the same

Nope. The one thats bad (my 95) r not antilock. Atleastthey dont hae the fuses and stuff. The newish ones (96 parts xj) is ABS. Atleast i think so coz it has all the fuses and stuff.

I really no nothing about brakes...

I dont believe there is a difference in ABS and non when it compares to calipers and rotors. Just the axleshaft having tonerings and the sensors to read them..

Rotors are the same and pads are the same.

The abs tone ring isn't mounted on any brake parts, its located on the unit bearing
