Default Stock Driveshaft reinstall issues...HELP

So last weekend I sheared the stock bolts off on the yoke of my Dana 35 which cause my stock driveshaft to fall out.

I have since removed the yoke, drilled the bolts out and enlarged the holes to accept the U Bolt mod. I installed the yoke back on the pinion and tightened the nut down till it was snug.Ive installed a new U joint on the driveshaft

Im ready to reinstall the driveshaft at this point, however for some reason, the driveshaft seems to have either gotten longer,or wont go into the t case as far as it should. Im really getting frustrated...ive NEVER had an issue reinstalling a driveshaft on ANY vehicle ive owned or worked on. Ive lubed up the inside and outside of the slip yoke with ATF hoping this would help...whats keeping the driveshaft from goin in to the T case as it should? Ive shined a light into the tailshaft section of the T case and I see no obstructions,I also dont see anything in the splines of the driveshaft. Any tips would be very helpful at this point.
