Default Stereo upgrade gone bad

So ive just installed a new amp sub and deck into my 96 xj and it was working all fine and dandy up until I decided to make the bracket fit the interior trim better. It now does not have any power to the deck. I hooked it up to the battery and the deck works fine. Ive also checked all the fuses under the steering column and the wiring unit at the back of the deck. It appears ive also lost my dash lights. Any ideas of where to start looking next?

Did you disconnect your battery ground before messing with the wires? Could of blown a fuse

You hooked up the dimmer circuit to the new deck, didn't you? That is why you dash lights and RUNNING lights do not work. Clip the orange wire at the back of the deck and replace the blown fuse for the lights.

see this is the strange part. EVERYTHING was working fine and I didn't change anything in the harness. I removed it, changed the location of the bracket and replaced it. I have also checked and just doubled checked all my fuses and have no idea what the issue could be.

When you repositioned the bracket, did you run a screw through some wires behind a panel?
