Stereo upgrade
Don't know if this has been covered before? We purchased a 2000 Cherokee Sport for our sons (twins) first vehicle . We all have been making repairs where needed . Wife and I want to keep it as close to stock as possible .
The boys only request is to upgrade the stereo so that they can play music off iPhone etc.
is it possible to just remove stock stereo and plug a JVC unit in ? Or must I buy adapter. Plug etc. I know a mounting plate s needed , I just want to keep it simple
Any guidance would be great .

The new stereo won't plug into the stock harness.
You could cut and splice the wiring together, but the best solution is to find one of those harness adapters. They only cost a few bucks and simplify the job immensely.

x3. Call them, tell them what you've got, they'll identify the correct adapter.
You'll probably also need a mounting adapter. The later Cherokees used a non-standard size face on the radios, which makes the adapter necessary
