Steering stabilizer issues
First of all, I got a skyjacker stabilizer and it doesn't seem to have all the hardware. It only has one bolt, and no castle nut or cotter pin. Aren't I missing something here? Also, I was able to get the bolt with the cotter pin off. It's the otherwise that is giving me trouble. I tried getting a wrench on the bolt head(towards the front of the jeep) and I torqued it but it slipped. Any advice here? I had a pipe on it and there wasn't enough room, but with my hands really pulling I pulled until it gave way, which I thought broke it loose. But it was just starting to round it. Any input is appreciated. Oh yeah, and of course I used a type of pb blaster.

Prob have to heat the crown but with a torch. PB is good stuff but not enough on those. Replaced mine like 5 months ago. And, I could be wrong but I do think you're missing some parts. I replaced mine with just a Gabriel stabilizer and I feel like mine came with a bolt for the lower connection and nut. I'm not sure though you may have it all. But def need a caulder pin for that crown. But yeah they can be a b**** to get off.

It's the one with a caulder pin that goes through it. It's on the upper connection of that stabilizer. My advice would be to heat up both connections with a torch and be careful when cranking them off

You'll have much better luck turning the 'nut'.. not the bolt. A six point socket might work better than a 12 point.. the 12 point sockets tend to round off stubborn nuts more than the hex ones (in my experience) ALWAYS loosen the nut.. not the bolt.

I took the wheel off to do mine. Much easier from that side. I put a wrench on the side towards the front that eventually wedged itself on something after spinning a bit. I used an impact wrench on the other side because I had one. I could have easily used a socket, extension and breaker bar.
