My fuel pump in my 1993 Cherokee is getting SOOOOOOO LOUD that it requires typing in all caps! It has always been a little noisy, especially when it is time for a fill up. I filled it up the other night and it is getting unbearably loud. It is a humming sound if that helps. Someone please let me know what this means. A bad bearing in the pump perhaps? I do not feel like replacing it. They cost a TRILLION dollars. A TRILLION!! Thanks so much in advance!

Definitely a bad bearing, or brushes.
Its really easy to do on my 98 (pump is in the gas tank). Took me about an hour because the tank was already empty. Didnt even have to raise the vehicle or drop the tank because I am lifted a little.

Worst case -- it just packs up and fails one day but if it isnt your DD than you could probably just wait till it dies.

Increasing noise in a fuel pump can absolutely indicate that failure is in your future.
Do yourself a favor and replace it BEFORE it craps out and leaves you stranded.
On a 93, fuel pump replacement is easy compared to us later model guys who have to drop the gas tank.
Do not install an Airtex. SEARCH and you'll find out why. My recommendation for fuel pumps is always Bosch when they are available with Carter as my second choice. I do not have a third choice.
Good luck!

Lame. Yea I know to never use an airtex unless I enjoy doing things twice. I know it is a relatively easy fix I just dont feel like it
How about spectra? $105 at autozone.
