Question Steering Stabilizer

Just got off the phone with my dad about my DW issue. He asked me if I disconnected my sway bar (yes I did), and then if I disconnected my stabilizer(no I didnt). I dont know much about offroading...So, would not diconnecting my stabilizer cause it to go bad when I went offroad with the sway bar disconnected?

y would you ever disconnect your steering stabilizer...this makes no sense to me. it is there to "stabilize your steering"!

Have you done an alignment? Made sure your tires are balanced?

I dont know why my dad asked me if I diconnected my stabilizer, but I figured putting that on here wouldnt hurt.....tires are balance, going in for alignment soon.

Check all your front end parts, there are quite a few joints under there that can go bad.

Un-Balanced tires, Alignment, CV Joint, Rotors, Tie Rod End, Ball Joints, , Idler arm, bad steering stabilizer, Trac bar(bushings, angles, bolts), Axle mounts, control arm bushings, steering box bolts/spacers, frame(cracks in the frame could make the steering box feel loose), bad u joint, driveshaft unbalanced.

A steering stabilizer is a band-aid that masks steering problems. A properly set-up and aligned front end does not need one...ever.

Steering stabilizers will not cure Death Wobble...ever. they only dampen the steering.

Determine the root cause and fix it, don't slap another band-aid on it.
