Default trouble after replacing sparkplugs

I replaced my spark plugs yesterday and didnt start it untill today because of my steering stabilizer problem. When i started it it idled really rough like a older muscle car. then when accelerating once i hit 3000 rpms it was like hitting a rev limiter. i was able to hit the speed limit 60mph but i had to keep it under 3000. the whole time this was happening the check engine light was flashing not just on. then i stopped at a gas station put gas in it and when i left it felt fine but the check engine light was on solid. any ideas?
thanks... Dillon

Dirty injector, plugged injector, crap on the end of the sparkplug, incorrect spark plug gap. Get the code, it is a miss fire code find out which cylinder and check that plug.

Blinking light is a missfire check the firing order. You could have 2 wires messed up.

at night time have someone help you, take a spark plug and unplug all your wires from the spark plugs. have someone turn over the engine (try an start it) and check to make sure each coil is giving you spark. it sounds like you are not firing on one of your cylinders. i have driven it on 5 cylinders and it sounds almost the same, it doesn't start sounding eratic till you only have 4 cylinders firing. so be sure to check that.

Default Plugs

What type of plugs did you put in. Same thing happened to my '00 when I put in expensive plugs. Sounded like it was going to explode and could hardly get up to 60. Went back and picked up standard plugs, did a hard reset with the battery and running great. I6 doesn't like flashy spark plugs. Good luck.

Nope those are boots and they should be replaced when you change plugs but if you put dieletric grease in them they will go for quite awhile. The reason they say to replace them is cause people just give them a yank if you go easy you can save them, if they are bad you will hear a crackleing sound ,also one boot is about 12-15.00 dollars so go easy and get the grease. And Im not tryin to fight with you trans am.

I changed my spark plug last week and had the same problem. I fixed to issues. not sure which was the problem. First I has bunch of old dielectric grease on the spring to the plugs. When I was removing the boots I noticed one of the springs wasnt even there. Im not sure if it wasnt there when I installed the coil the first time or if was loose and feel off when I pulled the boot off. Either way the Jeep is running great now. You can get a new spring in a boot replacement kit if thats your issue.
