Alright i have a 90 xj and the steering column is messed up in it. i was wonder what my options are to replace it entirely. Am im limited to only other XJ's with in the Renix Era or will say CJ/Wrangler stuff work as well?

 

Up to 1994 XJ will work.

 

What about wrangler/cj complete columns? I have a friend who has a bunch of wrangler parts but Idk if it would work

 

I'm not sure if a YJ column will be a direct bolt in swap.

 

I thought that I had read the Chevy Cavalier (same era) was a direct swap but I could be misremembering. When you say "messed up" what does that mean? If you're just talking about the tilt mechanism, they are notorious for coming loose. It's not terribly difficult to tighten them back up again and get several more years of reliable use before having to repeat the process (Loctite helps). There are write-ups on the procedure to tighten the bolts in the tilt mechanism.
