Default Steering column

Alright so I'm putting new motor mounts in the jeep and the steering Column is in the way I can't figure out how to take it out in one piece any help would be appreciated

Take your airbox out instead and jack up the engine/tranny from underneath a little. Helps to have a helper.

Yeah engine is all out already so I have room to work was just hoping their would be a way to get just the shaft out or move it out of the way for a bit while leaving the steering wheel still in the cab

I have to drill a hole right where the shaft is I got the one that is to the far right but can't get the one that is just behind it it sucks ( I'm putting a sb chevy 350 into it )

Ooohhh.. well that changes everything. I don't know anything about stuffing a 350 in an XJ...

Yeah I'm using the same steering shaft just need to get it out of the way for a little so I can drill the other hole then it should be easy to finish what I need to do with it does anyone know if you can just remove the shaft in the engine bay and if so how? Thanks in advance

Could try removing the steering box and moving it out of the way.

Alright so I did get it off for anyone that wants to know you take the bolt off at the top of the steering shaft then take off the three bolts that are by the driver side tire the shaft and the steering gear box will move right out of the way
