Default steering column

ok ive searched this and can trind anything. i broke my steering column in the woods on my 88. the junkyard by my house has one out of a 93 but im not sure it will bolt in. im not worried about the wiring cause im good with that stuff just to need to know if it will bolt up and fit on the steering shaft

yes it will jeep used the same saginaw colomn in everything from the days of cj on up till airbags became standard...if it comes out of a XJ it should work

84-94 all the same column, the ignition cylinders are the only difference depending on what style key you have.

I just replaced the steering column in my '88 with one from a '94 this weekend. It was a fairly easy install. 6 bolts.

2 holding the "U" shaped bracket that hold the steering column up to the dash.
2 that attach the steering column to the firewall.
1 that attaches to the side just in front of the door that connects a stabilizing bar to the steering column.
1 that connects the steering column to the steering box. The last one was a pain. It was a bit tricky to get at and even harder when trying to put the new one in.
All in all it wasn't too bad.

The 95 is a airbag column and it is totaly different, wiring and construction. Won't work.

i got a 95 no airbag but i did work on one today with an airbag so idk what to tell ya

Every 95 I've ever seen had a driver side airbag.

i got one build date 10/94 title is 1995 and it's got the fake vent windows and everything no airbag

im just going to keep looking for one. i tore it down and 2 of the bolts are broke off. just going to change it
