Default Starting Problem Plz Help

My 89 cherokee is my daily driver as well as my toy. but recently it has developed an inconsistent starting problem. sometimes after long and short periods of time it will just crank over n over then finally it will start, but most of the time it fires up like a champ. i have replaced the fuel pump, filter, put a water absorber in the tank (HEET), and seafoamed the engine to try an fix this problem. everything i can spot is in working order. plz any suggestions welcome. i just dont want to keep throwing money around and not fixing the problem.

thanks for the help

CPS is crankshaft posistion sensor.

my guess is the NSS: neutral safety switch.

If it still starts then whats the problem.. All of our jeeps have little quirky electrical bugs. as long as it runs then its fine with me

Kevin. I would take a look at the crank position sensor first. If thats not it your intake mani may need a good cleanin. I recently took out all the vacuum fittings and lines and cleaned all the gunk out it idles much smoother. Couldnt hurt.

the picture is great but where is that located? my real problem is the fact that it just cranks for days sometimes, then other times it fires up like its brand new?
