Starting issue
Hey all!
So I went to start my 96 4.0l Xj and there was absolutely no juice. It had sat for 2 days but was running fine when I shut it off. I put the jumper pack on it and it started slow, but would shut off at first. After the second or third start I let it rev a bit with the throttle and after a short time it stays running just fine. I just did the battery cable upgrade, and I think that I will hear to check all the grounds first thing.. The cables to the battery are clean and solid. I will check the other connections. But any advice with regard to my symptoms would be greatly appreciated. Xj has 131,xxx miles on it. And the battery could be old for all I know... I have had the vehicle for about 20 months. Thanks!!!

That's funny! My uncle had a VW beetle and had put an aftermarket radio in it, wiring it hot all the time. My 2 cousins sat in the bug for awhile Saturday morning listening to the radio, then got out and went away with their friends to play. My uncle went to start it Monday morning to go to work and the battery was totally dead. As soon as he connected the jumper cables to it, the radio started playing! My cousins were grounded for awhile. This was before transistor radios so this one pulled quite a bit of amps. Of course my dad had to rub it in and tell him it was his fault for not wiring it properly.

When I was a lot younger I sat in the car one day while we were out and had the blowers on full for ages. When my parents came back to the car is was too flat to start. Luckily my uncle was out with us and gave a jump start. That was the day I learnt that car batteries were limited in capacity and not to leave stuff on in a car for hours on end.

Sooo..
I ordered and received the LED dome lights. The didnt really fit in the light fixture; there seemed to be a clearance issue. So I thought I'd bend the little wires on the ends up to accommodate and snap! Broken wire end dealeo. It's no a lot of money. So I'm not super bent, but has anyone had a similar issue with a proper remedy?

At least the parts cannon was not required.
