Starting issue
Hi, I'm new to this forum and could use some help. We have an 89 XJ that we bought new and Am now starting to restore. Lately I'm having a starting problem, or a charging problem. I have to jump the Jeep to make it start, and after driving around for 20 minutes, it won't restart. No power to anything. The battery's only about a year old. Do I need a new alternator? Any help is appreciated,
Dan

First thing you need to do is have the battery load tested. Just because it's only a year old doesn't mean that it can't be bad or have a bad cell. Also have the alternator bench tested then you have some idea what's going on.
