Starter questions
Yesterday my starter took a dump (yes im sure the starter is bad) on my 99, and come to find out that a new one (reman) is about 150$ and from years 98 and down are in the 60$ range...?
So that leads to the question, anyone know what the big differences are besides a few mm on size? Has anyone else run into this and fit a pre 99 starter on, and if so what did you do?
I read a few things I came across stating it can be done with a change of a wire on the solenoid, but I'm just looking for more info so I can get back on the road as this is my only vehicle and borrowing 60$ from someone is way easier than 150 lol.

Yeah this was my most hopeful link http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1055467
According to all of this stuff the signal spade that comes from the jeep needs to be converted to make either starter work, assuming it does bolt up...
Other than that one signal wire it looks like a go, I'm just hoping for verification from someone before I try it....I may have to bite the bullet and give it a go though.
At least there's a decent paper trail on this now!
