Default Starter Issues 89 XJ

I've been having some issues with my starter, and so I got a new one and I'm still having the same issue. I've talked to a couple people and they say that I need to check the starter relay, but I don't know where it is. Could someone tell me or send me a link to a video or a schematic of where it is? In case you can't tell, I'm pretty new to the mechanical worldy. It is a 89 XJ with the 4.0L I6 non HO. My Chilton book isn't being helpful.

Starter relay is just behind your battery. If you follow the smaller positive wire from your battery it will take you right to it.

In the 16 vehicles I've owned I've never had a bad relay.

I already ordered the new relay, so I'll just swap it out and if it keeps doing it I'll rewire it. I don't want to but I have to get it running right. It's my daily driver.

How to test the relay? Find a similar one in whatever the Renix relay bank is and swap 'em. On later years they're almost all the same type of relay.

Hate to be a party pooper but the starter relay is different than the rest of the plug-in relays. Look at the pics that cruiser posted.

AWwwh. So it is. I'll stop posting in the Renix thread now!
