85on32+4, you have a 2.5 with the rochester carb, he has a 4.0 multipoint injected, what makes you think it can be the same issue?

listen to fantic238, dude seems to know his stuff. I'd try the IAC test he suggested and then try testing your TPS

I believe you need a multi-meter. I'm not sure on the exact procedure to do so.
