At first I thought it was intermittent. But I noticed when going over speed bumps or hard go from a stop or reversing then change gear to drive and the jeep has a small jerk it stalls. Anyone have an idea what it might be?

I suspected a short. But tested all the grounds and seems fine. Hard to diagnose cause I can't recreate the stall when sitting still.

Other than the stalling it runs great. Doesn't run rough and starts and idles great.

I've done everything, including #27. Still having the same problem.

Only happens at low speeds, it just dies. No rough idling, purrs while idling between 500 and 700 RPMS. I have no rpm surges. Has good acceleration.

I have noticed at times it will stall when my foots on the brake and I'm making a turn. Or backing out of a parking space, putting my foot on brake and shifting it to drive, will stall.

I have let it idle and I've gone through every electrical connection under the hood and jiggled it to try and get it to stall, but can't recreate it.

I've taken it to two dealers and they can't diagnose it. even local mechanic can't recreate it. He seems to think the CAT is clogged, but the test shows it's not and I just installed a new one last year.

This jeep has been my dads since he bought it new in 1987. He never had a problem with it and always kept up maintenance. Tranny fluid and oil are clear like they should be. no leaks whats so ever. engine and tranny as clean as can be. I just don't know where to go from here. I even replaced the ECU but no luck.

Any other Ideas?

I've read another article about the pcm/ecu getting a bad one from Oriellys. I'll check that today. I did not jiggle the harness at the ecu.

Did you ever figure this out? Im having what sounds like the same exact issue on my 87 renix. I thought it was a fuel pump issue bc it died on me and wouldnt get any fuel to the rail even though the pump was running. Turned out that someone had replaced just the pump and the outlet hose inside the tank had disintegrated and fallen off the pump. Replaced the whole assembly and it still has the same issue where it'll **** off when going pver a speed bump or around a corner. I did notice that it didnt seem to do it when i had the a/c on which i only just got working
