Spider gears in different ratio carriers.
I'm going from 3.55 gears to 4.10s and I have to get a different carrier. My question is are the spider gears in the 3.55 carrier the same as the ones in the 4.10 carrier?

I think the difference is where the ring the ring gear bolts to on the carrier is placed.
If I understand correctly, the difference is the thickness of the ring gear. So the smaller, numerically, gears are different thickness in comparison to the larger, numerically, gears.
To get them to meet up with the ring gear correctly they have to change position of the mount on the carrier.

Ok sweet thanks that saves me some money now I just need to get the carrier. Sounds like used ones are hard to come by so it looks like i'm probably getting a new one.
