hey guys, I recently did my sye on my xj. Everything works as should except the speedo and the odometer. I checked the wires, seem ok. Checked the gears, look good. I have taken out the sensor about 4 times to see if maybe I am not installing it correctly.

Could it be that the sensor has to be clocked a certain way to read?? I have twisted it a few times and made sure the notches were lined up in the clamp.

Maybe a pic of someones sensor may help?

Mechanical or electronic speedo?

I had to spin my speedo gear retainer thing to get the gears to mesh correctly and read my speed.

It was easy tho.

The gear is kinda offset, i tapped the retainer plate with a screwdriver and hammer til the speedo gear met the splines on the output shaft...
