Default Leaf springs

Are there any ways to check leaf springs to see how good they are with out putting them in.

No?
What leaf springs are they?

What makes you think they are bad?
Are they rough country? If so..yes, they are bad.

If they are stock springs, I wouldn't waste the time putting em in. They're probably sagging anyway. I have yet to see a set of aftermarket springs sag below there intended lift, but my experience is not very extensive. If you are on craigslist, figure out how many miles they have, if they were ever used for towing or large heavy loads, pictures of the vehicle they were installed on etc. What brand are they if not stock?

And sag horribly early in their lifespan. Stick to RE, Deaver, National. I have IRO 5.5's and they kick some serious butt.
