so this is what my jeep speedo does. the gas gauge works fine(i have low gas i know) and the idiot lights worked perfect and my aftermarket gauges work perfect but the speedo wont. mind you i kept it about 40 mph the entire time. and sorry for the bad quality.

what do you guys think?

 

id say there is a gear stripped some where. its one bolt to pull the one out of your t-case. try there first

 

speed sensor is go out. It is screwed into the tail of the TC.

 

hmmm thanks, i have not pulled it yet since i am still running 3.07's and 33's and they dont make a speedo gear for that i use a GPS for now,

also the Odometer works perfect. that does not have anything to do with the speedo gear does it?

 

so the gear looks perfect. no sharp edges nothing looks stripped. its clean the connector terminals are clean, the oil looks clean. the wiring looks good too.

 

it was worth a shot. and easy

 

if the sensor on the gear and the gear itself is good then the speedo head has a problem. Best to just junkyard or ebay one.

 

hmmm i might just suck it up then.... i love having the mileage correct and we have no JY around here that is even remotely priced well =[ do you know if there is any way to fix just the speedo itself??

so i would just like to state that what ever i did when i had it out(cleaned all of the oil off of it and sprayed electrical cleaner in the connectors and took an ear swap to it all) fixed the problem! took it down the same road and did all of the fun stuff and it was fine! =] thanks again for the input!
