Default SPEAKER SIZE

Can anyone tell me the size of the stock front door and rear ceiling speakers on a 94 XJ. They are going bad so I want to up grade them. I 'm using a Kenwood receiver 50x4watts (22Watts rms each) Any suggestions on the speakers? Thanks

They're all the same size? Do you know if 6.5s will fit with a little cutting or will better 5 1/4s work ok? Thanks

5 1/4's will work without any modifications anywhere. 6.5s will work with minimal modifications.

It depends which you're feeling up to doing.

I just replaced all 4 speakers with 5.25" Polks in doors and 5.25" Pioneers in back. The Polks rock and the Pioneers suck! It only took about an hour for everything to install...

My 97 has 6" speaker ports, but I had some trouble finding speakers that wouldn't protrude into the door so much that it blocked the window from rolling down all the way. I found some 6" JL 100 watt RMS speakers and they fit perfect. They sound great hooked up at a 500 watt RMS Alpine 4-channel with a pair of Arc Audio 6x9's in back. The JL's provide great sound quality and carry good vibrancy across all low, mid and high ranges.

6" speakers usually fit without any modifications; but ya never know. Depth of speakers matter too. Rockford fosgate punch series speakers should fit just fine. But it's iffy as to if the Rockford power series ones will due to depth.

If you have the factory infinity set up they are 6.5" all around.

Been using Polks rock speakers on my jeep and I really like the sound quality compared to other brands...

I fit (4) 6 3/4 infinitys in my jeep, only thing you have to cut is the panels about 1/4 inch and they work fine. I used self tapping mason screws to hold them in.
