Sound bar question?
In order to take the speakers out of the sound bar I would need to take the sound bar down?

When I took the speaker cover off there are no screws to get the speakers out. It looks like there held in by little rubber pins of some sort

Stock the are mounted with plastic revits, and must be removed. It not all that hard to do, its just held up by the trim molding. Take the extra 2 minutes and you save many more on the job.

agreed. Much easier with the bar out of the jeep. Stock speakers are held in with one-time-use plastic rivets that you have to cut the back off of.

I'm also about to replace my sound bar speakers and was wondering if anyone had speaker recommendations? Looking to spend $50 or $60 for the pair, tops. I think they are 5.5" speakers?

check out crutchfield they usually run specials. Stock are 5.5" but if you look at the link i posted above, 6.5" ones fit great with very minimal trimming. I got 4 JVC 2-way speakers for around $60 - sound much better than stock.

That's what I want, but I don't have a dremel or a steady hand
And are the stock soundbars 5.5" or 5.25"? I'm not seeing many results at all for 5.5 hehe

5.25" sorry. It's really not very much material you could do it with sandpaper or a file.

Ok well mine was not like that at all. When I removed the speaker cover I had the stock chrysler speakers in it. They were held in with two screws. I unscrewed them, the speaker came out. I put in 6.5 inch JL speakers that I got from crutchfield. I put the two screws back in to hold the new speakers. And put the speaker cover back on. No removing the speaker bar, no trimming. This was on an 01 XJ sport.
