i did one on my 87 Bronco II. it wasent hard at all and if your fuel injected, your good to go! just draw up what you want, all the angles and bends. then make sure you have enough room for 2.5 or 3in exhaust tubing to fit where you want to go.

i used 3in tubing, and had a muffler shop bend it for me. once i had it bent, i used my torch and cut a 3x4in rectangle through my fender and got some 3in tubing that i used to connect the pipe to the throttle body.
got everything all lined up and in place and welded 4 2in bolts to the body where i wanted them to go. then welded washers to the pipe so they slip onto the bolts, and then mounted the snorkel and screwed the nuts on. threw a k&n filter on the top and away i went. it looks really good and only cost me about $20.00

have fun

and i would relocate the computer as well. preferably higher than what you expect the water to be.

i un did all on the wires on mine MARKING AND LABELING EACH ONE!!!
then bought new wires (5ft of each wire) and i built a harness on my headliner out of thin sheet metal. hid the wires and all you can see is the harness/case. comps are inside and i mounted 2 led lights and 2 6in speakers in the case so it looks better. be shure to splice, wrap, and shrink EVERY wire correctly! it cost me $30 in wires to move all 3 of my comps, so its fairly cheap.

good luck with the floods! hope everything keeps ok and well!

i matched the wire guage with what was on my Bii. there were multiple sizes. and i have never moved the computer on an XJ but i would probably look somewhere behind the glovebox or radio. and be sure to check if you only have one computer, i had three. found out the hard way.

computer relocation took about a day, not hard, just time consuming.

i made one with my friend on his 94 cherokee and what we did was cut a hole in the drivers side of the hood (on top next to the hinge) you can use the stock soft tube as long as it doesent have any holes rips or tears and you should prob use a 2 inch pvc. im not egzactaly sure how many bends you need its really up to you and you should need no more then eight feet of tube and a few bends (prob 2 90's and a 45) the key is water tight ness make sure you can put your hand over one endand your engine will choke out. after that you will need to seal your distributer your spark plugs and wires along with everything else electrict on your engine so make sure you have alot of di-elictric grease (all plugs and conector)and for your computer i wouldnt do any thing my friends still runs fine so if you have any more questions just ask thanks and good luck
